PRESS: Russian cbank can acquire Otkritie FC Bank

MOSCOW, Aug 25 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Otkritie Financial Corporation (FC) Bank can be acquired by the banking sector consolidation fund of the central bank, business daily Vedomosti reported on Friday, citing four officials of state-run banks, a source close to the central bank and two more sources with knowledge of the matter.

“The key shareholder of Otkritie FC Bank Vadim Belyayev has denied the information. He said that there are no negotiations to hand the bank over to the banking sector consolidation fund… A representative of the central bank does not comment on operating banks and on whether the fund is ready to start work,” the daily reported.

The Analytical Credit Rating Agency (ACRA) listed Otkritie FC Bank for downward revision on Monday. It estimated that the bank lost 433 billion rubles of client funds in June–July.
